Berrien custom torsions are made of 2 1/2" O.D. chromoly tubing with a
Unlike custom torsions offered by other manufacturers, every Berrien custom torsion comes with the IRS trailing arm clips tacked to the housing in our jig, to ensure that they are correctly positioned. Due to the heat produced by fully welding the clips to the torsion, the torsion must be installed in a chassis before that welding is completed to prevent warping.
Each custom torsion also comes with:
spring plate retainers, spacers, nuts & bolts
If you plan on using trailing arms over 2" longer than stock, please specify either a 1" or 1-1/2" setback for your front trans mount to reduce the angle on your CV's. There is no additional charge for a setback front trans mount.
NOTE: Custom torsions ordered for factory installation in a fully welded sandrail frame require a set of our Tubular Frame Horns.
Upgrade charge to substitute a custom torsion with tubular frame horns for a stock torsion in an LCWT chassis.

Depending on your choice of spring plates, you will use one of the inner grommet sizes listed below in our custom torsion.

Tubular Frame Horns

Stronger than the single tubes other manufactures offer as replacements for damaged stock frame horns or as an accessory to their custom torsion, our tubular frame horns attach to the torsion more than half way around. This ensures a stronger joint, better able to handle the abuse of off-road terrain or really deep potholes.
Available as an option for custom torsions ordered for customer installation, our tubular frame horns are required when a custom torsion is factory installed in a chassis.
