Frame Horn Supports

Age and rust weakens the frame horns on a stock VW torsion, so they need extra support. Our frame horn supports weld to the end of the frame horns and upper cage.
They are standard with all partially assembled tacked kits and fully welded chassis. They are an option for the Warrior and Cruiser.

Our trailing arm clips can be used on a custom torsion or to convert a stock swing axle torsion to accept stock or aftermarket IRS trailing arms. They are included with the Berrien Custom Torsion.
Our weld on front trans mount is standard on our custom torsion or can be used to convert a late IRS torsion to accept an early IRS transaxle. In addition to the trans mount for stock trans placement, we offer them with 1" & 1-1/2" set-back to reduce the angle on your CV's when using extended trailing arms.
Close the open ends of your stock frame horns, where they are cut off the pan, with our 4-piece torsion cap kit. Not only do they give a finished look to the torsion, they also strengthen and seal the frame horns.
Bus Trans to Bug Torsion Adapter Kit

This three piece kit mounts a type 2 (bus) IRS transmission into a type 1 (bug) Early IRS torsion.
Due to the large size of the Bus tranmission, you will need a special coupler to align your shift rod with the higher Bus nose cone.
For installation in a Late IRS bug torsion, you will also need a weld on front mount. You will need shorter axles if using the stock trailing arms. If using 2x3 trailing arms, you can use the stock bus axles.

The solid rear trans mount prevents spreading and twisting of the frame horns and is also the front support for the underbar kit. It is standard with all partially assembled tacked kits and fully welded chassis. It is an option for the Warrior and Cruiser knock down kits.
Weld on Battery Box

The Berrien weld-on Battery Box was developed specifically for our Nostalgia square tube chassis & body. It was made to clear the IRS trailing arms & still to fit under the rear bench seat, but it can also be used on a stock or custom torsion in any of our sandrail chassis.
The box comes pre-assembled as it appears in the above picture. The legs are radiused to fit against the main torsion tube.
Inside box dimensions are: 9 3/8" x 7"
Bolt on battery box for Swing Axle applications

The above battery box can be bolted directly to a swing axle torsion tube using specially made "U" clamps. It is powdercoated & includes all the hardwae pictured.

Tubular Frame Horns

Stronger than the single tubes other manufactures offer as replacements for damaged stock frame horns or as an accessory to their custom torsion, our tubular frame horns attach to the torsion more than half way around. This ensures a stronger joint, better able to handle the abuse of off-road terrain or really deep potholes.
Available as an option for stock & custom torsions ordered for customer installation, our tubular frame horns are required when a custom torsion is factory installed in a chassis.
