Should I Pick-up My Chassis or Have It Shipped?
Shipping, Packaging & Claims
With the following information you can decide whether to pick up your chassis, have it shipped or take delivery from our trailer at a show (show schedule).
SHIPPING
Chassis accessories, bubble & flat side panels and other small parts, will be shipped by UPS. Shipping charges for UPS are added to your invoice.
Large items, such as Knock Down and Side by Side Sandrail kits, Nostalgia & Roadster-T Square Tube Chassis & Fiberglass bodies must be shipped by common carrier. All common carrier shipments are sent freight collect.
Due to the size of an assembled rollcage, Fully Welded or Top & Bottom Tacked sandrail kits are not shipped, and must be picked-up at our plant in Michigan, from our trailer at a show (show schedule) or from a local Berrien dealer.
We use Con-Way Freight as our common carrier for shipments within the continental US. Shipping companies base their freight charges on distance, weight and density. If you have an account with Con-Way Freight, we need to know that, because your discounted rate overrides our discount.
If you want to use a different carrier, you may arrange shipping from your end.

A broker is required for any item shipped beyond US borders. Due to the differences in regulations from country to country, we are unable to arrange the shipping to destinations outside the US. Our international customers are encouraged to locate an import broker in their own country to make shipping arrangments for them. We are happy to provide package size & weight information, if you supply us with a complete list of the items you wish to purchase.
PACKAGING
Con-Way Freight requires that a shipped item be packaged to protect it, and other shipments, from damage so packaging charges apply on all items that have to be shipped by common carrier. Special packaging is also required on windshields & side panels, to prevent damage during handling by the small package division of UPS.
If you take delivery of a chassis or large fiberglass item from our trailer at a show (show schedule), there are no packaging charges, but a delivery charge will apply.

Packaging charges vary depending on items ordered as some items can be packed together. The minimum charges for single items shipped within the Continental US are listed below.
$40 - Aluminum Diamond Plate Floor - single floor
$5.00 each additional floor if 2 or more are shipped together
$25 - Warrior or Cruiser Knockdown Kit
$50 - Side By Side Tacked Sandrail Kit
$60 - 3 Piece Sandrail Body
$50 - Nostalgia or Roadster-T Square Tube Chassis
$500 - Nostalgia, Lancer or Roadster-T Body
$200 - 4-Passenger Hardtop
$20 - Manx or "T" style windshield w/safety glass
$30 - Bubble or Flat Side Panels
$60 - Maverick or Desperado Trike Body

CLAIMS
If you do not receive the exact number of parcels shipped or if any of the packages have visible damage, you must make a verbal & written statement with the carrier at the time of delivery and file a claim with the carrier as soon as possible. Berrien Buggy Inc. is not responsible or able to make a claim for you after the carrier accepts a shipment from us. If you have received the correct number of parcels and find items missing, then you must contact Berrien Buggy Inc. and report in detail, what is missing, within 5 days of receipt.
